We also know from the North American International Auto Show that the Shelby will feature the largest front brakes of any American sports coupe while also boasting four different exhaust modes. Upgraded aerodynamics were key in developing the GT500 with a focus on not only straight line speed but cornering ability as well. Options like carbon fiber wheels and Recaro seats will find themselves as options in the GT500. At the time of this writing, we do not know the full details of Ford’s supercar beating pony. It was announced last January that the GT500 would be able to sprint to 60 in the mid 3-second range while covering the quarter mile in under 11 seconds. Pricing is also a mystery but one can speculate that it would start at over $61,000 due to the GT350 starting in that range. Nurburgring and other track times were not announced in the initial GT500 press release. We expect to see the GT500 go on sale in the fall.\"\"<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
