C8 Corvette to make its way to Europe
After much debate about whether the C8 Corvette will go overseas, we can now confirm that there will be a right-hand-drive Corvette. The 2021 C8 Corvette will be available to European dealers in the second half of 2021. However, offerings will be different compared to the United States spec.
First off, the 2LT will be the standard trim which comes with a heads-up display, Bose stereo system, performance data recorder, heated/ventilated seats, and a rear camera mirror. What is also interesting is that the European Corvette will also come standard with the Z51 package which includes a performance exhaust system, beefier Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires, shorting gearing, and new aero pieces along with manually adjustable threaded spring seats. A launch edition model will also be available which is essentially a fully optioned C8 with the 3LT package.
Pricing for the Corvette overseas carries a heavy price tag. In the United Kingdom, the launch edition for the standard top starts at 81,700 pounds, which is currently equivalent to $102,873 in the states. The convertible will run you 87,110 pounds which is $109,685 in the U.S.
These prices are certainly approaching some serious supercar numbers but the C8 has impressed many with its relentless performance both in a straight line and on the track. European supercar buyers will now have the chance to buy a car that is part of American auto history.
